Overview
The Reference Data (REF) domain contains the authoritative master data that the rest of the Arda system depends on. It is the starting point for any new tenant: before replenishment can be managed or orders placed, the items being tracked and the suppliers who provide them must first be defined and maintained.
The core entity in this domain is the Item (REF::ITM) — the catalog record that describes a stocked consumable or material. Each Item carries identification, ordering, and card-configuration data. Items may have one or more Item Supply records (REF::SPL), which capture vendor-specific sourcing information such as SKU, unit cost, lead time, and order method. Suppliers and other trading partners are modeled as Business Affiliates (REF::BA), a flexible entity that can hold multiple roles (vendor, carrier, customer, etc.) and is linked directly to Item Supply records to enable bidirectional navigation between items and their suppliers.
Two further sub-areas are planned but not yet documented: Organization (REF::ORG), intended to model organizational structure and its relationship to business affiliates or department units, and Contacts (REF::CON), planned for managing contact information as a shared, reusable entity across domains.
